Shout Out Louds – Fall Hard (& Passion Pit Remix)

Swedish indie-pop-rockers Shout Out Louds have been evolving album-by-album, steadily turning into a mature yet far from boring outfit that deserve much more international acclaim. This latest offering from latest album Work pushes all the right jangly guitar buttons, hitting its stride in a simple but rather charming (if ever so slightly emo) chorus. Little Boots – Meddle
Victoria Hesketh is Little Boots. She used to be frontperson of stylish electro-rockers Dead Disco. She’s now gone solo, and is here to inject some much-needed fun into your Monday morning. ‘Meddle’ is a subtly sweet little slab of bedroom-electro vibrancy, measured yet mesmerising, and Totally Pop. Another great Little Boots track, ‘Stuck On Repeat’, produced by Hot Chip, is competing with the likes of Girls Aloud, Sugababes and Leona Lewis for the prestigious Popjustice Twenty Quid Music Prize. Here‘s Little Boots playing ‘Meddle’ in a bedroom, on a tenorion. What’s a tenorion? You WILL want a tenorion after watching this clip. Oh, and here’s her Myspace.

Other things that are a bit less fascinating than a tenorion can be found with a simple click below…

Single of the Week: Kid Sister ft. Kanye West – Pro Nails
Ah, finally this gets a proper release! About time, too. This excellent electro/hip-hop crossover track has been flloating around since the back end of 2007. It’s spent so long waiting to be released that ace Chicago MC Kid Sister actually ended up making her UK debut on the Count & Sinden’s Beeper. This is in a different league though, and for once it’s not Kanye that steals the show. As I’ve mentioned before, Kid Sister is kind of like an updated version of Princess Superstar, only with better delivery, and on this evidence, much better singles. Of course the lyrical content’s total nonsense, but who honestly cares? This is great, fresh-sounding stuff, perfect for summer, full of life, bounce and energy. Comfortably one of the best pop singles of the year so far.
